Landfill Communities Fund
The Landfill Communities Fund (LCF) is managed by an organisation called Entrust and allows Newport City Council, as a landfill site operator, to claim part of the income generated by landfill tax for projects which improve local communities.
Local organisations may apply for this funding for specific projects that meet the scheme's requirements.

Welsh Church Fund
The Welsh Church Act 1914 secured the disestablishment of the Anglican Church in Wales and made provision for the funding of church projects.
Newport City Council receives an annual allocation which can be awarded for a wide range of charitable objectives including educational, social, recreational and cultural purposes - the fund is no longer used exclusively for church projects.
